Step into a world of magic and adventure with our Family Tabletop Tales, an interactive role-playing program designed for children and their families!
Join us every other Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM to explore the whimsical worlds of Hero Kids and Little Game Masters. This program is perfect for beginners – simply grab one of our all-in-one kits and you’ll have everything you need to start playing immediately. We invite participating adults and teens to take the lead as “Game Masters” for their own family and friends, guiding their young heroes through epic quests of imagination.
While library staff will be on hand to offer guidance and help you learn the rules, the adventure is yours to create together! It’s a wonderful way to foster teamwork and creativity while embarking on unforgettable journeys as a family.

Unwind with an hour of relaxing creativity as you paint on pre‑drawn canvases featuring charming vintage floral designs. All supplies are provided, and no experience is needed. Registration is required so we can ensure plenty of canvases and paint for everyone.

Dirty Diggers is back! Our popular gardening program for kids returns with two sessions in May before switching to weekly programming for the summer.
This week, young gardeners will explore Plant Hardiness Zones – what they are, why they matter, and how they help us choose the right plants for our region. And now that the danger of frost has passed, we’ll head outside to plant our seedlings in the raised beds and officially kick off our growing season.

Calling all craft lovers! Come to Adult Craft Hour, a fun and relaxing opportunity for adults to get creative. Each session will feature a different themed craft, with all supplies provided by the library. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or a beginner looking to learn, this hour is for you!
How It Works:
Join us in person to enjoy crafting in a welcoming environment. Guided instruction available for those who are new to the craft. Already know how to do it? Simply come and enjoy the creative process with fellow crafters.

This Month: Citrus Soap Making
This month, we’re diving into citrus soap making using an easy melt‑and‑pour method perfect for beginners. Participants will create two handcrafted citrus soap bars, choosing their favorite scent and learning how to add color, blend fragrance, and pour their soaps into molds.
Our fragrance options include:
• Lemon Bar – Freshly‑squeezed lemon, honey, and orange with a soft finish of shortbread, vanilla, and sugar
• Pink Grapefruit – A bright, juicy grapefruit scent that smells just like the real fruit
• Sea Lily & Lime – A sweet, tropical blend of florals and bright fruits, balanced with English ivy, coconut, vanilla, and musk
All supplies will be provided, making this a fun, low‑pressure way to try something new – and you’ll get to take home some beautifully scented soap!

Youth Monthly Mix is a welcoming hangout space where kids ages 12-18 can unwind, try something new, and connect with friends in a low‑pressure, fun environment. Each session brings a fresh activity, giving everyone a chance to explore different interests while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere.
This session is a Teen Zen Lab which is all about slowing down and tuning in; mind, body, and breath. Attendees will participate in a mix of mindful activities, including:
• Breathing + sense‑awareness exercises to help you feel grounded
• Journaling that spark reflection and self‑expression
• Zen coloring to relax your mind through creativity
Whether you’re looking to de‑stress or just enjoy a break, our Teen Zen Lab will give you the space to create and recharge.

Looking to find a community of fellow readers, but intimidated by traditional book clubs? Put down your phone, pick up a book, and spend quality time with fellow book lovers – no homework or chit chat required!
Bring the book (and beverage) of your choice to the library for a quiet hour of reading in peace. (You can also choose a book from the library shelves!) We’ll have cozy blankets and comfortable seating for all attendees. Colored lanyards will be available for participants to wear, to help indicate who is down for some book chit chat and who is not. (Red lanyards = Please let me read in silence; Green lanyards = Let’s talk a little bit.)
Known as the introvert’s happy hour, NMPL’s Silent Book Club is the perfect place to retreat with your book for a designated hour of reading. This is the perfect activity for those whose social battery is low, but who still want company. Readers and introverts unite!
