Honeywell Arts Academy: Where the Music Continues

When the final notes of the season fade and the stages are cleared, the work of Honeywell Arts Academy continues.
Musicians return to conservatories, ensembles, recording studios, and communities around the world, carrying with them
the influence of their time in Indiana long after they leave.

Each year, the Academy brings together emerging artists from around the world in Wabash, Indiana, for a shared
experience of learning, collaboration, and performance at the Honeywell Center and Eagles Theatre. Through rehearsals
and performances, scholars are immersed in an environment designed to challenge, support, and expand their craft.
Those experiences culminate in live performances that reflect not only technical skill but also the ideas shaped throughout
their time.

Honeywell Arts Academy is comprised of a summer intensive program and year-round support for emerging musicians:
Wabass for double bass musicians; Soundboard for pianists; and Resonance for multifaceted musicians. Led by Artistic
Director Ranaan Meyer of the GRAMMY and Emmy award-winning group Time for Three, the Academy is designed to
provide the next generation of musicians opportunities to learn from one another, push boundaries, and connect with both
local and industry communities, with faculty helping to propel their artistry forward and springboard their careers.

“Wabash becomes a place where artists step outside of their usual environments and really listen differently—not just to
the music, but to each other,” says Meyer. “It’s a rare kind of setting where growth happens quickly, but what’s built here
stays with them. You see musicians arrive with one perspective and leave with something expanded, something that
continues to shape how they approach their work long after they’ve gone home.”

While summer performances mark a visible milestone, the Academy’s influence extends well beyond the stage. Scholars
carry what they experience in Wabash into future collaborations and creative work, often shaped as much by
conversations between rehearsals as by the concerts themselves. The connections formed between artists and audiences
become part of a larger artistic journey that continues long after the final bow.

Honeywell Arts Academy alumni have gone on to grace the stages of Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and other renowned
venues. Their time in the Academy is often described as a formative chapter, one that helps refine their voice, expand
their perspective, strengthen their community, and shape the path ahead.

That connection between experience and performance continues through the Honeywell Arts Academy Concert Series,
with sponsorship from First Farmers Bank & Trust. The series extends the Academy’s reach, bringing Academy alumni
into intimate performance settings at the Columbia Club in Indianapolis and the Eagles Theatre in Wabash. These
performances offer audiences the opportunity to experience musicians whose careers are still unfolding, and whose time
in Wabash continues to shape their artistic development.

“The Concert Series is where that work becomes visible,” says Meyer. “Audiences are hearing artists in a moment of real
growth—there’s a different kind of energy when you’re seeing something unfold in real time.”

The Concert Series carries the torch of Richard Ford, alongside Harry Halloran, whose shared passion for great music
and young talent helped spark the founding of Honeywell Arts Academy. Through these performances, audiences witness
the Academy’s mission in motion, connecting artists and communities through music that continues to evolve.
