A Mother’s Inspiration

Founded by Cheryl Working, Daniel’s Place was born from her personal caregiving journey with her son, Daniel, and the life-changing support she once found through a similar program in Berne, Indiana. When Cheryl’s daughter Erin studied abroad, Cheryl longed to visit her but faced a familiar challenge, finding safe, trustworthy care for Daniel. Through the program in Berne, Daniel received respite care while Cheryl took that much-needed trip. The experience renewed her strength and revealed just how vital those moments of rest could be. It also sparked a vision: to create a place closer to home where other families could experience that same peace of mind.

A Lifeline for Families

Since opening its doors, Daniel’s Place has become a lifeline for families across Wabash County and beyond. Whether a caregiver needs a few hours to run errands, attend an appointment, or simply breathe, Daniel’s Place stands ready to welcome their loved one with open arms and a compassionate, and experienced team.

It’s more than a service, it’s a community that celebrates every individual’s dignity, joy, and worth.

Growing to Serve more

Thanks to the generosity of community members, local businesses, grant funders, and countless donors, Daniel’s Place is building a new facility that will offer overnight stays, a major step forward in serving families who need extended respite care or emergency support. This expansion will allow even more caregivers to take the time they need to rest, travel, or tend to life’s demands while knowing their loved one is in excellent hands.
