Dirty Diggers: Detective Dogs & Invasive Species
July 14 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Dirty Diggers is NMPL’s hands‑on gardening program for kids, where young gardeners dig in (literally!) as they prep garden beds, plant veggies, herbs, and flowers, and learn how to care for a growing garden from seed to harvest. Each week brings a new theme and a new chance to explore the natural world right outside the library doors.
We may not think of dogs when we think of gardening, but a special class of our canine friends play an important role in protecting our environment so beneficial plants can thrive! Working dogs are great at sniffing out unwanted plants and they are working hard to protect our ecosystems here in North America. Come learn about these amazing friends and enjoy spending time caring for the library garden beds!
