A Slice of Wabash County

By: Isaac Stakeman

Do you have a passion for pizza and a thirst for adventure? Well, get ready to satisfy both cravings simultaneously as we delve into the mouthwatering marvel that is the Wabash County Pizza Trail! With 6 delectable stops, this trail promises a savory journey that will leave you craving more. So, grab your appetite because we’re about to embark on a pizza trail like no other!

Located at 950 Washington St, Lagro

We will start our Pizza Tour in the small but mighty Town of Lagro. The 950 Speakeasy Bistro offers a scenic view of the Wabash River while you eat. With delicious homemade pizza, the Speakeasy is my personal favorite pizza place on the list. P.S. They offer a cauliflower crust pizza that is to die for!

46 W Canal St, Wabash

Our second stop is Wabash Pizza King, located in the heart of downtown Wabash. It is the perfect place to take a break from shopping and grab a calzone. Some fan favorites include their breadsticks and garlic bread. It is also the perfect dine-in location during Wabash’s First Friday.

Next on the list is Goodfella’s Pizza LLC. 1118 Stitt St, Wabash. While it is only a couple of blocks from downtown Wabash, it is centrally located near several neighborhoods. The perfect walkable spot for those nights when you just don’t want to cook, and you would rather relax and watch a movie instead.

As we make our way to the edge of the city limits, you will find Harvey Hinklemyers. Found only in Wabash and a few surrounding communities, the salad bar is fresh, and the atmosphere is even cooler!

190 N Chippewa St, Roann

Now we leave Wabash and head north to the quaint Town of Roann. Here you will find two local hotspots to dine and a couple of antique stores. However, don’t let the size of Roann fool you. They offer some of the best homestyle cooking Wabash County has to offer, and of course,  Bailey’s Pizza Parlor brings new color and flavor to the historic Town of  Roann.

210 E Main St, North Manchester

For our last stop along this Pizza Trail,  we scoot over to the Town of North Manchester. Hitting up downtown, we find Keyhole Pizzeria. In addition to pizza, this local pizzeria also offers wings, pastas, and meatballs, just in case you think you have had too much pizza for one day. But let’s be honest, there is no such thing as too much pizza in one day! Enjoy my recommendations for the Wabash County Pizza Trail! It won’t be the last time you taste your way around the county, one slice at a time!

P.S. If the season is right be sure to check out Hawkins Family Farm as they are a seasonal business. Don’t miss their popular Wood-fired Pizza Friday Nights that happen most Friday Memorial Day-Labor Day. Bring chairs, blankets, sides, and drinks, and relax in the tranquil environment on the farm as you eat!
