Homeschool Home Ec: Vanilla Mint Lip Balms

Learn a practical life skill at this session of Homeschool Home Ec! Students will explore how simple ingredients can be combined to create a nourishing, vegan lip balm that supports everyday self‑care.

Participants will make their own Vanilla Mint Lip Balms using a blend of olive oil, coconut oil, and agave extract – a moisturizing combination that helps keep lips hydrated. The balms are scented with Vanilla Mint, a sweet mix of peppermint candy, anise, and warm vanilla notes. Students will learn how each ingredient works, how to melt and combine the oils, and how to safely pour and set their finished balm.

This program encourages creativity, independence, and confidence while showing students how easy it can be to make useful products at home. Each participant will leave with their own personalized lip balm and all supplies are provided by the library. Come ready to learn!
