Babytime: Baby-Led Feeding – Fried Plantains
Babytime is designed for children from birth to age three and their caregivers, offering stories, songs, rhymes, and simple sensory play to support early learning and development. On select dates, Babytime will also feature a special Baby-Led Feeding session, where caregivers can learn about this approach to introducing solid foods, focusing on safety, independence, and motor skill development.
This month, we’re making Fried Plaintains. Plantains are the more versatile relative of the banana, showing up in savory and sweet dishes all around the world. Less sugary and containing more fiber, plantains are an excellent choice for little bellies. Fried plantains serve as a satisfying snack or a yummy side to favorite main dishes. Participants will peel and cut their plantains to be fried, enjoy eating them, and feed the scraps to the library worms!
