Stephanie’s Guide to Summer in Roann
By: Stephanie Rogers

- Start your morning at Lynn’s Restaurant with a cozy booth, a warm mug, and a plate of hometown comfort.
- Slip into the bright, and welcoming Roann Public Library, with cozy reading nooks and local history touches.
- Stop by Log Cabin Antiques for an easygoing treasure hunt, perfect for uncovering a keepsake to take home.
- If it’s a summer Saturday, tour the historic Stockdale Mill, originally built in 1857, to learn how the mill aided during the Civil War. Still operates today selling flour and corn.

The historic Roann covered bridge - Walk down to Bailey’s Pizza Parlor for lunch; they offer more than pizza, try a hot sandwich or one of the daily specials like made-from-scratch meatloaf or chicken and noodles, and don’t skip the famous baked goods.
- Grab your kayak and drop into the Bear Grass/Eel River Public Access off State Road 15, then paddle to the Roann Covered Bridge for a scenic float.
- Pull over at the bridge and take a photo on the Roann Covered Bridge to capture the moment.
- Continue your outdoor fun with a U-Pick stop, visit Cordes Berry Farm for strawberries or blackberries, and swing by David Doud’s Countyline Orchard for fresh orchard picks.
-
Wrap up the day with a sweet treat at In-Laws Creamery and celebrate a day well spent.

WHY IT’S SPECIAL!
The area is full of beautiful historic landmarks and outdoor adventures that bring me so much joy.
WHAT I LOVE!
Roann holds a special place in my heart, especially in summer, when its sun-soaked streets capture all the feelings and charm of a classic small-town experience.
