Hosting Eastern Birds: A Nest Box Building Workshop
Learn how to welcome beautiful Eastern Bluebirds to your backyard and help support these charming songbirds! This two-hour workshop begins with a 30-minute presentation open to the public, where participants will discover best practices for attracting and caring for Eastern Bluebirds. Even if you’re not planning to build a nest box, you’re welcome to join this part and gain valuable insights for your yard or local community.
After the presentation, registered participants will roll up their sleeves to build their own cedar bluebird nest box. Each kit comes complete with all materials and instructions, so you can go home with a finished box ready to host your feathered friends.
This program is led by Upper Wabash Interpretive Services, IDNR, and offers a perfect mix of learning, hands-on crafting, and wildlife stewardship.
