A Very Colorful Halloween Party

October 9 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Halloween Party is one of the North Manchester Public Library’s most popular events of the year, and this year we’re adding a splash of color to the spooky fun! Join us for an evening packed with games, crafts, food, and festivities for the whole family.

Step into our Haunted Art Studio or get messy with Splatter the Zombie. Create your own Sugar Skull Mask, drink up a delicious Jack O’ Lantern ice cream float, and try your luck with the Spooky Wheel of Fate and Candy Count Contest. Returning favorites like Tombstone Toss and Mummy Bowling are back, along with exciting new additions such as a Choose Your Own Adventure Game. Little ones can bounce to their hearts’ content in the bouncy house. The whole family can enjoy free wagon rides around town, or join with other participants for outdoor yard games!

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Halloween Party without our Annual Costume Contest! Dress to impress, dress to scare, or dress to dazzle.

Trophies will be awarded in these fun categories:
– Most Monochromatic Monster (one color from head to toe)
– Most Colorful
– Best Duo or Group
– Most Artistic
– Best Baby
– Most Spooky
– Director’s Choice
Winners will be announced the following week.

Bring your wallets and appetite too – Tacos Los Gordos will be on site serving their amazing Mexican food!

This event is free and open for all to attend – no library card is needed. Don’t miss one of the biggest parties of the year – this is sure to be a Halloween celebration you’ll never forget!

The Halloween Party is sponsored by Riverbridge Electric.

Put on your comfiest flannel or sweater and head to Stars Hollow (a.k.a. the library) for a night of Gilmore-inspired fun!

At 6:00pm, kick things off with a Mini Mocktail Hour where you’ll stir up (and sample!) Sookie’s Hot Toddy and Lorelai’s Espresso Martini – because sometimes life just calls for a little bit more coffee!

At 6:30pm, it’s trivia time. Think you know which town troubadour sang on which corner, or how many jobs Kirk has had? Prove it. Channel your inner Rory during finals week, and battle for the ultimate prize: a Gilmore Girls gift basket worthy of Friday Night Dinner bragging rights.

How It Works:
– This program is for ages 18+ and registration is required: Call (260-982-4773) or come into the library to pay the $5 registration fee. We accept cash, checks, or credit cards.
– When trivia begins, enjoy multiple rounds of questions all about the Gilmore Girls TV show.
– The participant with the highest score at the end wins the grand prize!

Step into the kitchen with us as we launch our brand-new Chefs on Wheels program, featuring the Charlie Cart mobile kitchen! In this first session, kids will whip up a tasty Three Sisters Sauté while learning about an ancient Iroquois legend and the science of companion planting.

The “Three Sisters” – corn, beans, and squash – have been grown together for centuries because they help each other thrive. Corn provides a tall stalk for beans to climb, beans enrich the soil with nutrients, and squash shades the ground to keep moisture in. Together, they make a powerful team – and a delicious dish!

Along the way, participants will practice kitchen basics like safe knife handling and stove use, gain confidence in their cooking skills, and discover how food, history, and science are all connected. And of course, the best part: enjoying the dish they created themselves!

This program is made possible through the support of the T-Mobile Hometown Grant.
