Join Crazy 8s, a totally new kind of math club. You’ll get to build dazzling shapes with glowsticks, crack secret spy codes, toss and play with bouncy dice, and more! Each week is filled with get-up-and-move activities that will level up your math skills. There’s no grading or homework review – just fun with friends. We’re making math the cool thing to do!

The 9:30 am sessions are for:
• Kids in grades Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd
• Kids who can commit to showing up weekly for 8 weeks

Here are 3 reasons why your kid should join:
• It’s collaborative: Each week’s activity gets kids working together and moving around together so they can bond over math in a whole new way.
• It’s hands-on: Our high-energy activities explore the math behind kids’ favorite things like treasure hunts, card games, puzzles – even secret spy codes!
• It’s proven: Crazy 8s reduces kids’ math anxiety after only 8 weeks in the club and boosts their confidence in the classroom.

Weekly Sessions
✨ Week 1: Glow-in-the-Dark Geometry: It’s a geometric glow party! Create repeating patterns and cool 3D shapes with glowsticks, then flick off the lights to see it all shine.

🏖️ Week 2: Beach Ball Party: Beach balls aren’t just for summer! We’ll use a specially designed numbered beach ball to race our way through Zigzag Volleyball, Hot Potato and other fast-paced games. We guarantee you’ll have a ball!

🎲 Week 3: Bouncy Dice Explosion: It’s your big chance to throw things because you’re supposed to! Work as a team to discover which numbers roll most often, then face off against your opponent in Radical Bingo.

🏁 Week 4: Crazy 8s Race: Play a new board game! Roll dice to travel around a figure 8 racetrack and zoom forward when you land on a magic GO number. See who makes it to 8 x 8 first!

🟧 Week 5: Pixel-palooza: It’s hip to be square! Create large, pixelated pictures out of sticky notes. Dream up and plan out other creations and see if you can build them.

🎯 Week 6: Daring Darts: Supersize the math fun in this game of floor darts! We’ll learn how to keep score, then play a few rounds before our traditional game takes some twists and turns.

💰 Week 7: Funny Money: Money is no laughing matter! But we bet you’ll have fun comparing coins and earning money to buy a cool puzzle.

🕵️ Week 8: Spy Training: See if you have what it takes to be a spy. You’ll break different codes for clues to unlock the hidden spy gear!

Babytime is designed for children from birth to age three and their caregivers, offering stories, songs, rhymes, and simple sensory play to support early learning and development. On select dates, Babytime will also feature a special Baby-Led Feeding session, where caregivers can learn about this approach to introducing solid foods, focusing on safety, independence, and motor skill development.

This month, we’re making Popeye Muffins. These pretty green muffins are a fantastic snack to satisfy little bellies, particularly those who’ve reached the 12-month-old + stage of self feeding.  While our muffins bake, we’ll meet our new composting worms and feed them with scraps from our recipe!

Program Cost: Free, sponsored by the T-Mobile Hometown Grant and Let’s Go Compost!

Freshen up your home while learning a practical, eco-friendly life skill at this hands-on session of Homeschool Home Ec! Students will explore how everyday household cleaners work and discover how natural ingredients can be used to clean effectively while being kinder to the environment.

Participants will create two DIY cleaners to take home, starting with an All-Purpose Spruce Cleaner made from spruce branches macerated in vinegar – capturing the fresh, woodsy scent of the forest while providing a powerful, ecological cleaning solution. Students will also mix up an Essential Oil Kitchen Cleaner, learning how natural oils can be used to clean sinks, countertops, floors, windows, and more.

This program encourages sustainability, problem-solving, and independence while showing students how making cleaners at home can reduce plastic waste, save money, and support healthier living. Each participant will leave with their own personalized glass bottles of cleaners and the confidence to put their new skills to use at home.

All supplies are provided by the library. Come ready to mix, learn, and take home something truly useful!
