Senior Carry-In Lunch at Salamonie Lake

Salamonie Lake announces Senior Luncheon on Friday, April 10

The Senior Luncheon will be held at noon, April 10 at the Salamonie Lake Interpretive Center, located in Lost Bridge West SRA. Anyone age 50 or older is welcome to attend. This month’s speaker is Anne Maddox sharing a program she calls Habitats and the Interconnectedness of Nature.

Maddox says, “Having recently joined the group ‘Artists for Climate Awareness’, I use my artistic skills, love of nature and background in teaching to educate people about climate change and loss of natural habitat. Through a series of six Ecosystems that demonstrate the interconnectedness of nature and a short story, I call attention to what happens to wildlife when mowers destroy their habitat.” Maddox is Hoosier Woman Artist 2024, Indiana Wildlife Artist, Artist for Climate Awareness, and Recipient of Robert Cooper Audubon Association of Muncie Award, for Education Through Art.

The program begins with a carry-in meal at noon. Guests should bring a side dish to share, a beverage, and their table service. The main dishes egg salad and ham salad will be provided. A donation will be accepted to help defray costs.

The program with Upper Wabash Interpretive Services is located at 3691 New Holland Road, Andrews, 46702. Gate fees do apply when the entrance is staffed. $7 per Indiana vehicle, $50 for annual entrance permit to all Indiana State Parks or $25 permit for those 65 or over.
