During Open Makerspace hours, you are invited to unlock a world full of crafts, games, and creativity! Play games on the Wii or challenge someone to a game of air hockey. Get creative with Perler bead crafts, coloring, or even scrapbooking. Grab your friends, family, or come solo and join us – all ages are welcome!

Come learn the art of needle felting at the library! “It’s so EASY!” is the common refrain from those who try felting for the first time. It’s not hard to see why: These adorable festive pals require no sewing, knitting, or crocheting skills!

Taught by experience crafter Rachel Kruger of Kruger Krafts, this class will provide expert step-by-step instruction and helpful hands-on guidance. Participants will be able to customize their gnome by choosing their own yarn colors and accessories. Simply follow along and watch your Christmas gnome come to life!

Have you ever looked at a gorgeous painting and thought ‘I could never do that’? Now… you can! Certified painting instructor Heidi Lovett will provide step-by-step instructions to guide you towards creating your own beautiful masterpiece in a fun and helpful environment.

This class is for teens and adults ages 13+ and requires registration. Class size is limited so painting reservations are first-come, first-serve. A materials fee of $10 per person will be due at registration. These fees are non-refundable. Register at the front desk.

Calligraphy is the art of writing by hand. For thousands of years, people in many countries have created calligraphy using a brush and ink or special ink pens. Whatever the tools, the emphasis is on the beauty and appearance of the writing, including expressiveness and quality of line.

Whether you’re a seasoned calligrapher or just starting, this class welcomes everyone to explore and develop their skills. Our laid-back class is designed to introduce you to the basics of calligraphy using just a pencil, making it accessible and fun for all skill levels. You’ll learn the fundamental strokes, which form the foundation of elegant letterforms, and then have the opportunity to practice these techniques with specially designed worksheets. Join us to express your creativity and improve your handwriting at this fun class!
